Review my very first website!

Hello! I hope everyone is having a grand new year so far. Anyways, I hope you all might be able to give me some pointers pertaining to my first site.

Let me give you a little background - I started Drones Are Here.com about 3 or so months ago. I chose this affiliate marketing niche for a few reasons:

1. The competition on the first page were also affiliate marketing sites.
2. The competition had few backlinks and not much authority.
3. Drones are becoming more and more popular.
4. There was a good number of keywords at a competition level of 25-30 (using LTP).

So, I started building the website based on these findings. I created review articles about the most popular commercial drones, surveillance drones, beginner drones, and the like. I then continued to add interesting information - like how-to's and other fun articles.

Here is the link to the website:

Drones Are Here : Everything You Need To Know About Drones

I made one sale, and Amazon actually rejected my account so I reapplied. They said it had to do with my content - do you think, that they think, it is too review driven? Or too generic?

I'm interested to see what everyone thinks. It was fun to make, but I've learned so much along the way that I think I'm gonna start something new like dropshipping.

Thank you for your review,
Nick

Hard to tell what Amazon objected to. I'd guess maybe because you have a blog rather than a classic website. It looks as if it is just a series of articles, with Youtube videos.

As far as I can tell you have written the articles yourself, but Amazon might have glanced at it and assumed you had just used PLR or copied articles.

I would redesign the site, so it looks more business like. Have a home page with a bit about drones, a link to your "shop" (which is where your Amazon and other buying links will go), pages about other topics connected to drones.

Use the same content, but make better use of it.

I cant think of a site I have built that Amazon has rejected. Something you may want to do.. build the site as tho it is an informational site.. the site should stand on its own before you add the links to Amazon. ( make sense? ) Some articles on the "rules" of Drones.. FCC and other country requirements...

Here is a page I am sure you have seen My First Drone - How to build and fly your first drone... they are an amazon affiliate.. There is just a different feel to the page... its just more informative?

Build the content, THEN submit to Amazon and from there add the monetizing aspect of the page.

Thank you all so much for your replies! This is such an exciting journey, and I'm glad you are all working toward great things too.

I will continue to work on it, and also start a new venture very soon.

Do you know why exactly Amazon rejected your account? I am interested in affiliate marketing with amazon but looks like I have to learn a lot before starting it.

Amazon told me either - duplicate content, or just the content in general. It was a very bland and generic Amazon computer response. There is very minor duplication in some spots of the site, but other than that, all of the content is original.

I feel like, once I make another sale and they re-review the website, they'll let me in this time.

But back to the question - I really have no idea why they denied me.

Don't let this post deter you, though. Amazon affiliation is one of the million affiliate websites, and even one of the million ways to make money online.

I love Amazon.com, although they did leave a slightly sour taste in my mouth for denying me with such little information of why, and because they wouldn't pay me 94 cents for my affiliate sale! Haha. It has given me more drive to continue working on Drones Are Here, while also starting a dropshipping website.
