domain name issue with .dental domain

hey guys

With a uk domain if you own it you can go on nominet and manage the domain, move it from hosting company to hosting company etc

Anyway i have a domain its .dental and icann are the governing body, the domain is owned by me but I'm using it on a client project.

Scenario / My Headache

Client wanted two websites building. Paid a deposit on site 1, than on site 2 they asked the deposit from site 1 be allocated to site 2 as this was a more urgent build. They then completed payment for site 2.

In good faith i moved the domain away as they wanted to move the site its hosting and domain to another hosting company as i use flywheel hosting for my wordpress sites and they wanted to use a cheaper inferior hosting company that offers no backups, security etc that I think you need. But hey it's not an issue it is there website and they can host with who they want. I can only advise.

I am owed money still for building site 1 which is complete and I want paying for my time on that. I've not been paid anything on that site build. At the moment I am not being paid by them after months of waiting and now its coming into dispute that they don't owe me a thing and no longer want site 1.

I'm very disappointed at doing work without payment so I performed a whois on the domain that I transferred out and saw it is legally owned by me. I was surprised to see the domain is still pointing at my development server so I could if I wanted take this site down but I don't want to do that and I have provided them a backup anyway.

So how can I reclaim this domain? As mentioned with a uk domain it is a simple process I just go onto the nominet website and reclaim it. I'm sure there must be a process otherwise what would be the point of a domain having a legal owner on the whois registry ?
