Customising / Building Wordpress Child Theme
Hi everyone,
I need advice from fellow Wordpress experts here regarding a situation I am facing as below:
I have basic knowledge of HTML / CSS experience and currently have a child theme framework design in mind for my website which I want to make it work with the Genesis parent theme. It is a simple design with 1 header, a masonry gallery as content and a footer. I am thinking of either:
#1 Purchasing a 3rd party child theme which is similar to the framework I have in mind and customise it. However, I am not sure which tool to edit the code externally instead of editing it directly in my Wordpress. Can you recommend me a tool to edit the codes with live preview?
#2 I am not sure if I should challenge myself and build a child theme from scratch, but how and where should I start? Is this where Beaver Builder comes in?
