Hey Guys,

I'm new to being a business owner and new to the forum. I started a marketing firm in Raleigh NC in August 2016. I was in sales for about 10 years before that using social media and SEO in my business. I just updated my website myself and wanted to see if I could get constructive criticism. I really want to do well and would love to see any information you could provide. Thank you in advance!

My website is www.falcomarketing.com

    Hi Trey,

I think the first you should do it change the picture of social icon (color powders with different social media icons ), make it some picture about your brands or your product instead (as you're linking it to you Call to Action button) . You have a social bar on the right already to take the sharing part.

Other than that, there's a lot about designs, like fonts, adding a bit hover effects to the button, picture to make it more friendly. I recommend having some front end freelance folks; otherwise you can try looking up free lesson in codecademy or w3school (it's not that hard, trust me!).

    Best,

Thank you! I am trying to learn how to do it myself. I used to be pretty good at it when I was in High school but things have changed quite a bit since then. I will work on all the items you addressed.

      Don't worry.

You can try a html/css course on codecademy (get the free one, don't need to get the subscription) and those in w3school to get back. The lessons are clear there.

      Best!

Your website looks like a site from the late 90's, it is very outdated.

There are many design issues but here is the the biggest one of all, it's not responsive.

When you view it on your phone, tablet, etc it does not change to fit the display.

Considering nearly 70% of people access the internet form their phone now days this is the major issue that should be addressed first.

The logo looks like it was made in Microsoft Paint and needs a huge upgrade.

Social Media buttons are WAY to big, taking up way to much valuable space at the top of your page, that aside, they don't even work when I click them.

I could keep going but I think that is enough for now.

I suggest you go to Themeforest for design inspiration.
Not sure, but it seems like you're not using a cms; try wordpress or drupal.
There are plenty of great-looking themes you could use as a start, which would save you a lot of time.

All the best with your venture!
