I agree with teamind above. I would never buy my domain name and host in the same place. That to me means that registrar would have too much control over my business.
I buy my domains from namecheap.com or GoDaddy.com and redirect them to my host in my signature below. You need a host that will not only give you hosting but will give you internet resource tools to help market your website in my opinion.

I'm not familiar with hostgator's service. I see that dragonlordcs uses Hostgator, but I do have a shred hosting solution, but I can use a dedicated server as I grow from my same web host.

Good luck on your search for your web host, but I would separate the registrar and the location where your nameservers are located.

Always trying to sell you somthing. Also I have been tricked into buying an extra hosting account . i maybe wanting to switch over soon ;[

I'm using Free webhost and find that its better than Godaddy hosting space. booo godaddy.

But i like buy domain at godaddy. very cheap.....
