Your artwork is out of this world good. Terrific color combo -- great flash usage, and the layout is wonderful at first glance -- but as I try to sort matters out I'm not sure what you are selling and suddenly everything looks crowded. Probably if I knew what I was going there for (following an ad) I would sort all this out. In other words, my ignorance overwhelms your art. You sure have more talent than I have.

Oh, his web site is FTA2Z.com - We cover the A-to-Z's of FTA - Viewsat and Sonicview Retailer youse guys. I didn't see it at first.

Really smart, sharp site. I like the audio, especially the 'bells' when you pass the links.

Good luck

Love your design! Looks very professional, especially for your first site...

Perhaps you'll get more response on the paid marketing help if you post a separate thread w/this in the title.

Best to you in your venture,

Hi,

Snappy site.

BUT, the first thing I noticed was a typo in one of your graphics. FREE shipping on all recievers, it should be receivers.... i before e except after c and all that stuff. I know you said it was not without errors, but I just felt I needed to point it out.

Overall, I am impressed. It's really good. Love the sounds.

Regards,

Gary

Man, why do I have to be the bad guy?

I like the site layout. Clean and easy to get around. The thing that I could do without is the Flash navigation and the sounds. Flash is great for supplemental stuff on the site, but using it for your navigation is not a good idea. Disable the Flash plugin on Firefox and see what happens. Yep, no navigation. This effectively shuts out potential customers with an older (or no) Flash plugin from your most important pages - Support, FAQs and the Contact page. (I know, there's text navigation at the bottom, but it's below the fold and I'm probably not going to go there looking for it.)

I guess the point I'm trying to make is that Flash has it's place and it's an exercise in determining where that is. Do you really NEED Flash? Does it serve a purpose other than looking cool? What about site maintenance? Is this menu able to accomodate more than it already has? Things to think about.

Personally, I'd go with a simpler CSS-based menu - incredible accessibilty and easy to maintain and expand. Save the Flash for a daily special advertisement or something like that.

Aside from that, you've got a pretty good site going. Good work.

Flash movies are great on your first page, but should not in my opinion play on every page of the site. To solve this, either create another version of the flash movie which does not play the animation (starts and ends on the last static frame) Use that version for every page but the home page. OR plan B, create a CSS/ Graphic menu that matches the flash with a static picture and use that.
(First time post so I hope this helps and makes sense)

Hi There:

Your site looks good esthetically but I assume that you want it to sell as well. As a marketer, here are a few things I'd like to suggest. First of all I agree that the sounds are not a good idea. The main reason is that they might turn some site visitors off and you don't want to do that. Without the sounds, your site still looks good.

When selling products on the web, you need to build trust with your visitors. In addition, if you're interested in SEO, you will probably want to put some things on your page that will help you get page rank.

First of all, you need a headline that explains to people what you sell and why they should buy from you instead of someone else. Then, you need some text, telling visitors a bit about how long you've been in business, your guarantee, your shipping policies (these can be links but should be mentioned) and how you treat their valuable customer information.

In terms of SEO, it is not clear what your keywords are from looking at your page. You need to pick a major keyword that you want to rank high for, and then add some additional words (use this tool for research https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal). So, you take your main keyword and type it in, then look for groups of keywords with your main keyword in there. They should have less than 10,000 competing pages and around 500 to 1000 visitors per month.

Those are just a few ideas,

Regards,
Teddi

From a technical (graphics) and aesthetic viewpoint the site is great. Great color combo and layout. There was obviously a lot of work put into it.

But I think that there were some things you left out. I am referring to the alt-text of the graphics. This is an SEO tool you can use. Add the alternative text to your graphics for additional points on the SEO charts.

Another is the header navigation. In principle, I disagree with using flash animation for this part because you can have the same functionality with GIF files and with a lower total file size.

The banner could also have been done as a GIF file. The only advantage of a flash animation would have been if there was an embedded link in the file. However, this could also have been done with a sliced-and-diced GIF file or an image map. Again with a smaller file size.

There were several areas where you could have attached links to a sales page, or in this case, the links could have been directed to an "add to cart" item.

I would normally say, to limit the total page size to something like 150KB, but the graphics are good and it works. So I guess this is one case where it's worth the 250kb overhead.

Good luck with the site.

The site looks really professional - the only thing I'm always cautious about is sounds - uninvited sounds can chase people very quickly - if a worker is trying to browse in the background at the office and your sounds start to blast out - however cool they may seem - they're gone - and likely won't be back?
