I am using Host Gator and WordPress. I want to set it up like this: WP Pre-sell Blog>Opt-in>Merchant site I am using a pre-made Opt-in template. I have the files. If you are familiar with installing the Opt-in, any assistance would be appreicated. Ron |

I'm confused about what you are asking for. This sounds like you have a WP plug-in of some kind: Quote:

The blog sends someone to an opt-in page. Once they opt in, you send them to the merchant site. Is that the plan? If so, I have a couple of questions/suggestions: What are they opting in to? You're pre-selling them on the blog (I'm assuming something like a review), then sending them to a page to gather contact info? If this is correct, I'd urge you to reconsider. Think about this from the visitor's POV. You read a review about a product, and think it sounds interesting, so you click a link (which you probably expect to be an affiliate link) to find out more. You're expecting a sales page for the product. Instead, you get asked for your contact info, with or without first getting a sales pitch. IF you decide to go ahead and give your info, you are THEN taken to the true sales page, where you have to give your contact info AGAIN. How do you feel about having just given your info to somebody who has nothing to do with the merchant? How anxious are you going to be to hear from that person in the future? Personally, I'd be pissed. Actually, I'd never give you the info the first time, and then I'd go elsewhere and search for the product via Google. Now pretend you're the merchant. You have an affiliate that is trying to capture contact info from prospective customers. If they EVER make it to your sales page, they're not in a good mood once they realize what happened. How do you think they feel about you and your product? Not so good. They feel like they've just been scammed by someone you work with. I think you should decide if you want to build a list, or be an affiliate. You generally don't get to do both. | ||

| I think they were just spamming. But anyways on to the question at hand. Yes it sounds like you have some sort of email marketing plug-in and you want an opt-in page for them to sign up for your emails? Well if that's the case you'll have to refer to the plug-in to know what to do but feel free to post a link to the plug-in creator's home page and maybe they have some info there that we can read through and someone on here or myself could help you with. |
