Just point me in the right direction, I've built a very simple 2 page site that looks OK in IE but it's a mess in Firefox. I'm on Hostgator and I used their basic HTML Editor to build this simple site. Does anyone have any simple instructions on how I can make my website show properly in all browsers? Open to ALL suggestions.... thanks. -Anthony Nashville, TN |

Make sure the width of your text area is no greater than 600. Andy. |

Try to code the width in CSS instead using a HTML code. Make the website is looks better in both browsers, even in Google Chrome and Opera.

Unfortunately there are many little intricacies that mean that a website that can look fantastic on one browser may not work at all on another, or simply behave strangely. Many designers find this is the case when trying to make new websites work completely correctly on older browsers such as IE6. Your best bet is, as has already been suggested, to use CSS to compliment your HTML code. This tends to help in keeping the appearance consistent across the different browsers. If you've never used CSS before don't be daunted, there are hundreds of great tutorials that will give you the basics and inform you how to code the width of your page, along with many other things. Seeing the URL of the site in question would really help to give a more targeted response, but hopefully that helps a bit. ![]() Bex |

Not sure what you've done at this point, but it looks the same in IE7, FF3.5 & Chrome
