The Good: sell netbooks The Bad: Digital Video Solutions has been working on this site for over 2 months. 1626 N. Wilcox, Los Angeles, CA They claim they have created it for optimum SEO. But ........... Looks to me like simple Trellix site builder. I tested it for back links. Could not find any. Alexa shows no rating. I didn't see where they were using CSS. Look at the meta tags - what keywords? Submission to directories? I doubt if they know how/who. nwnetbooks.com Unfortunately I did pay the $395 and an extra $175 for the web site. But go ahead and click on whatever. The Ugly: Needless to say I'm sure the next step is ripoff report time. I just want to sell netbooks. The business relationship has been so stressed I'm not sure it will be saved. Very difficult to trust people like this. They have some lame excuse or no answer. Calling them you get a guy who talks with a mouthfull of marbles. But ask him to see samples of their work or speak to anyone who is actually selling netbooks thru them. Also watch out for the ole lease turn ins they try to pawn off on you. If you do call them beware. I'm sure they have cheated enough people already. Didn't want to vent - I'm just interested in selling netbooks. Try and contact their CEO - that doesn't work either. Have not seen or heard of getting any netbooks like their offer says. Other than that, comments on the web site are appreciated. thanks Jerry |

It seems to me like there is a lot of garbage copy that doesn't really help the visitors or tell them anything specific about your company or deals. Even if it's supposedly done for SEO purposes, no one will want to read a bunch of generic plain text and so you're going to have trouble actually selling to anyone. It's best to give specific information, like prices, with clear promised benefits and a direct call to action. Make this information jump out at the visitor.

It's not very a hype up site and some of those links don't work. I'll go back and enter a case for my money back! Good luck with that and in my experience refunds are hard to get. I've had to bite the bullet before and move on

I agree with bridgerlandweb it doesn't jump out at you. I did like training page though its a good start for a page. I did not see any keywords either but I don't know if thats because they are still working on the whole thing or not

Not a memorable site for sure...I'm not seeing much for basic SEO either. I think i would ask for a refund. Their sales text doesn't even make much sense, Newegg is selling netbooks for under 300 (new) and I've seen woot doing refurbs for like 229 or something. Not sure where they are getting their numbers from :-(

Hi Jerry, That site looks like it was created 10 years ago. I know you were concerned about the lack of css (it's being used by the way) but regardless the site could be improved a lot. I didn't see any products listed so are you using the site to sell now? When you hired this company did you take a look at their portfolio? I ask because you seem to know some about seo/web design. Did you point out to them that you couldn't find any back links or meta keyword/description information? If you haven't let them know and see how they respond. Also..why did you pay when they didn't deliver what was contracted? Kevin |

Home page- highlighting over the "welcome to NW-Notebook..." looks unprofessional. Under FAQ's, the words go over the monitor which makes the site look cluttered (plus it's difficult to read over a pic). Also the font changes on the FAQ page. It should be changed to all one font (or only different fonts for the headings). The picture on the about-us page looks too large. Services page - not sure what is going on there. The main home page needs content editing (some areas have no spaces after periods, some grammar is incorrect, there is a large space after one paragraph that needs fixed).

Hi there, I'm afraid I'd also echo the 'you got ripped off' comments. The website could really do with being completely redesigned and the content re-evaluated (a lot of it probably doesn't need to be there). In thinking about how to improve I would say think first about what navigation bars are essential for you to have on the top right, I'd say as many as the 10 up there now is a big no-no and that some could easily be sub categorised to give you topics such as: - Home - About Us - Services - Referrals - Contact Us The services section could then contain sub-categories for the rest of the pages. (Obviously this is just an initial idea, there's plenty of other ways that the navigation could be organised). If you're not confident in building a website yourself I think that it might be worth finding another web designer to completely overhaul it for you - you could probably find one on this site for a very reasonable rate. I understand that you may be reluctant to hand over any more cash based on how much you have already spent so make sure that you check out the person you're contemplating using before paying them anything so that you don't end up in the same situation again. Hope that helps a bit, Bex |

Agree with the majority that it needs a redesign.
