Squeeze/Landing page in WP site

I have installed WP in the root directory of my domain. I want to create a squeeze or landing page that is not the home page.

1. Can I add an HTML landing page?

2. Can I use different WP theme just for the landing page?

    Hi David,

    You can do two things here.
    1. create a squeez page in html which has nothing to do (internally script wise) with wordpress and upload it to your site and use that as the landingpage. next after subscription etcetc let the user go back to your main index which s your blog
    2. create a pagetemplate that uses your wordpress functionallity and write a new page and select that page. but to me that would only make sence if you are going to use this setup on more then one site
