I am starting a blog on blogger. How can i remove the navigation bar at the top.
In my layout settings, that option is not there. However, when i visit other blogger blogs, people have removed this bar. ~Live Life Cool~ |

If you do a search of the main forum there was a thread about this and how to do it HOWEVER, inconclusive as to whether you should or not

As far as I know, removing the navigation bar of a blog is against Blogger tos. Unless you host the blog on your own domain

I've removed the Blogger Nav bar on all my blogger blogs and I've not been penalized at all.
To remove the nav bar, you simply have to: 1. Log into your blogger account and go to your dashboard 2. Next to the blog you wish to remove the nav bar from, click on LAYOUT 3. Then click on the "Edit HTML" link 4. Look for the following code.. Code:
----------------------------------------------- Blogger Template Style Name: Minima Black Designer: Douglas Bowman URL: stopdesign Date: 26 Feb 2004 Updated by: Blogger Team ----------------------------------------------- */ Code:
#navbar-iframe {display: none !important;}
So the end result looks like this: Code:
----------------------------------------------- Blogger Template Style Name: Minima Black Designer: Douglas Bowman URL: stopdesign Date: 26 Feb 2004 Updated by: Blogger Team ----------------------------------------------- */ #navbar-iframe {display: none !important;} Of course, if you change the template, you'll have to re-add this code again! |
