Hi All,

I currently publish my own service-based graphic design website, desainonline.com. I have questions before i execute my online marketing plan.. here are the questions:
  1. If you already need a graphic design service, then you find my website, will you buy a service? if yes, what the reasons?
  2. If not, why not?
Your thoughts and reviews are so valuable for me, so please don't forget to review the website.

Thanks All!

Ok I'll be blunt and honest for you. I find the site doesn't put the focus enough on the logo's that you've designed. It's the text that is more prominent and the cheesy picture of the guy with his arm in the air, well, I'd get rid of that personally.

I would also work on the menus as they don't react to mouse hover or make it obvious where you are on the site.

My two cents (hope I wasn't mean )

I like the site it but there are a few things I'd change.

Your english is good but certain phrases get lost in translation (mainly in the sentence structure). Have someone (doesn't need to be a native speaker but it would probably help if so) go over the text and structure it better.

Take away the photo of the person with their hands in the air and replace it with a video telling your prospects what you can do for them or, if you don't want to do that, a jquery or flash movie highlighting your work.

I think everything else is fine. There will be things that you'll want to change as you gain experience but it looks good.

I am a dork, I really like the guy with his arm in the air, lol.. doesnt bother me at all, but I also think it would be nice if that section with the guy was in flash and changed to highlight all the great things about your company... I also think the menus should be in rollover. The English is not soooo bad, nothing makes me stop in my tracks and signals red flag, so I think your fine.

I think it looks really professional.

It screams "template". Not visually very appealing. It does nothing to show off your graphic design talents. I haven't read anything, yet. Just giving my first impression. If I was searching for design talent, I'd go elsewhere. The page just doesn't display an eye for graphics.

For me, when I clicked on your link. It seemed like it took a long time to come up, then I had to wait for the graphics to load which took another 5 - 10 seconds. I AM using high speed wireless internet. There's a possibility that it might have been my connection. Anyone else experience slow loading times?

I think the overall design is good. From your post, I understand that you want the site to be perfect before you start your marketing campaign. I can see how that's important but members here in the forum aren't necessarily the right people to ask if they'd hire you for a logo design. I suggest testing it in the real world. Often times, when speaking with your clients, the conversation can lead into talking about your website. Example: How easy it is to navigate through your site. A clear explanation of your services including price, turnaround time, etc. Everything that I would want know about before hiring you to design my logo.

Overall, I think your design is good. Keep the most important information on the home page. That is the first area that people see when visiting your site. I really like it that you have a "Quick Quote" Form (Call-to-Action) on the home page. This is great for capturing leads that could later convert into sales.

    I hope that this helps!

I see a lot of designers sites on my blog where I feature websites with exceptional design. If yours was one that came into my submissions I'd probably file it into the "no" pile. And here's why:

First, the first thing your site says to me is "Here's a template"

Your site looks nice. But it lacks "pop" and "wow" factor. If I were out searching for a web designer on the internet I'd want someone who not had a great portfolio of stunning work but also made it a priority to show off their skills in designing their own site.

It is a mistake, in my opinion, that I see all the time. Designers putting their blood, sweat, and tears into designing for their customers and then sort of just throwing together a standard site that's got a gallery featuring their work.

Give me more pop, more color, more graphics. From what I can tell from the page you've got the skill set to do it, just gotta take it to the next level!

this site looks like a pretty standard webpage and theres far too much going on with text on the page rather than graphics.

try creating your own web header in photoshop or background for the website..putting individual touches like that will send out a much better image of yourself. you should arrive at the homepage and think "heres a graphics designer or animator" without even clicking any further than that.

p.s too many navigation menus...incorpotating this into one..drop down menu?? would be more benificial..i didnt really know where too look first as there was alot going on within the page.

    good luck

sorry if i sound a bit blunt, but here is what i think:

make the colors and design POP. you are promoting how great you can design, yet your color choices are kind of bland.

you have a lot of places to request quotes

when you go into the gallery, i am unable to click on the tabs (view all, stationary, logo etc.)

when you go to a page, you have no way of knowing where you are except by looking at the url.

i feel that the first nav bar (logo design, stationary, etc) should be all in a main "portfolio category" which can be place on a nav bar. (something like Home | Portfolio| Why Desainonline| etc.)

the second nav bar (what you'll get | gallery| etc) has pricing in BOLD, no matter what page you are on.

when i clicked on "ORDER NOW" i am brought to a page that shows the standard options i can show. the order is messed up between the tabs, and your list. first tab should be listed first and so on.

i see a place to login, yet i dont see where to register a username/password

in the "about us" page, you have a logo with "enter our portfolio" and "order now", yet those buttons are not clickable.

at the bottom of the page, "site map" is not clickable.

also, the server seemed kind of slow to me.

based on the above, nothing really stands out to me enough that would convince me to buy your services. as soon as i close your page, the only thing i remember were the flaws that i noticed. you need to "WOW" the viewer with how great your work is. this page is your company image, always remember that.

just some quick thoughts that i had.

hope it helps you out a bit.
