I am using Gimp to edit .Jpg image files contained in a XHTML template. The .Jpg are titles such as: company name, about us, services, partners etc. The problem is although I am managing to edit them (just about!). But I am finding it hard to get a good match of fonts, all the titles look different. because I cannot tell what fonts are being used in the original .jpg images in the template. I am just going by trial and error and the result is a bit hit and miss. How do you go about editing XHTML templates as efficiently as possible? Any advice from you guys would be appreciated! |

There's a service called WhatTheFont . com where you can upload an image and it will give you a list of closest matches. Might be just the ticket for your font identification needs. Regarding templating - a jpg really isn't the best solution for a template. You need a file format that supports layering and that keeps fonts as editable font layers, not rasterised pictures of fonts. Suitable formats would be .xcf in Gimp or .psd in Photoshop. Si |
