Post Hostgator I asked for information after a purchase.

Hello people

I hired a web hosting service with Hostgator and I am now asking for verification. I can not call because I do not speak English.

Hostgator also requests scanned copy of a Photo ID such as a passport or drivers license. Additionally, request a copy of a credit card ...
What if I paid with PayPal?

Is all this so necessary?

What can I do?

I hope some help from you, I'll be very grateful.

PS: I apologize for my poor English, I must improve!

Sebastian.-

If that is what they require then yes, it is neccessary.
They want to protect themselves from fraud.

Since you can't speak english well, email them with your questions.

This is just for fraud protection. Fraud orders are massive in hosting - HostGator probably get hundreds per day.

Hence why they are requesting these details.

It is annoying though, I can understand your concerns.
