Does anyone know where I can get a Poll to use in my Wordpress posts?

Sylvia I put the phrase "wordpress widget poll" into Google and the first thing that came up was WP-Polls. Since I can't post a URL here you can do the quick Google search for the plugin.

Yes, I just spent the past hour doing that and did find the wp-poll, which I have installed, but it will not activate. It keeps giving me an error message like this:

Fatal error: Class 'WP_Widget' not found in ....plrproductsmonthly.com/PLRNews-Comments/wp-content/plugins/wp-polls/wp-polls.php on line 1367

I've gone to the files and reloaded this wp-polls.php but it still won't activate.

I visited his site for help, followed his instructions to test what might be wrong, but it still won't activate.

Now waiting for a reply on his Forum. Not sure I'll get it. This question was posted there 2 years ago and it never got answered.

He does say on his site that problems with plugins seldom get solved.
Not sure what that means, but it doesn't sound promising.

If anyone knows of another poll that will work, I'd love to hear about it.

Have you looked at wordpress.org/extend/plugins/democracy/?

I haven't used any polling plugins or widgets but I have run into similar problems with other WP plugins that have problems and no support.

Nevermind about Democracy. I just noticed it hasn't been updated since 2007. Sorry I can't help.

I've decided to go with the Poll through Bravenet.
I've used several of their other services in the past.
It's probably JavaScript, which it seems some people don't want in a Poll. But as long as it works, I'm not that fussy.

Search for "wp-polls" in the wordpress plugins directory. I have used it on several of my sites.

As I said, I did install wp-polls but there is some problem with activating it. I keep getting this error:

Hi Sylvia,

What version of WordPress are you running?

Based on the error message, it appears WordPress 2.8 or higher is required.
