I was hoping to get some advice on what you experts feel is the best way for me to improve my wordpress skills. I have created a few blogs using the flexibility theme. The blogs look alright but lack the customization/uniqueness that I would like. Could anybody recommend books, ebooks, websites, etc. that have helped you to improve your wordpress design skills. I would like to eventually become competent enough to offer my design services to local businesses. Is immersing myself in learning everything there is to know about wordpress the best route to take or would I be better served by focusing on joomla, drupal, xsite pro, or some other design system. Thanks in advance for any advice and recommendations.

I found the wordpress support forum to be very informative. There is a thread on pretty much everything.

I believe wordpress is the standard and I would stick with it. They offer the most flexibility among blogs.
