I am curious as to what is the best way to list a service on ebay? I am wanting to offer Minisite Design Services on Ebay and was curious if anyone has ideas or a system on how to do this that I can use or copy?

I have a ebay account that is in good standing but I have never sold a service on ebay, just physical products.

Build your portfolio first, like if you are offering minisite creation
services try to build as many demo sites as you can in various
    hot niches.

Link your portfolio when you create your eBay sales page so that
your customers can just pick the design that they like.

Make sure you don't violate eBay rules by placing live payment
button on your demos. But you can monetize your demo site by
placing links to your other products or simply put some affiliate
    links to it.

So, that's the basement of your eBay store...

Now, let's go to the main floor...

Register a separate webhosting reseller account (I recommend
Hostgator) as you need this for your recurring $$$ inflow.

I would suggest to make the services as your secondary offer
instead you build the website first completely (turnkey) as your
primary offer. Creating turnkey website is so damn simple using
PLR's, you can either do it yourself or simply outsource it somewhere.

Your services will serve as an upsell or upgrade for the turnkey
website the they bought. Services like custom logo, custom ecover
etc. Oh, don't forget to charge webhosting fee if they opt to stay to
your server, a 1 month free trial is reasonable enough and charge
    $7/mo. thereafter.

    Hope it helps.

Thanks for the insight, I am in the process of building a page to promote my services there, they make things so confusing sometimes it seems.

IMO, offering services on eBay is not a very good option
as you will be just held hostage by your customers due their new
feedback system, specially if you encounter a very demanding
    customer.

Offering a ready made solutions or products is much easier
I should know coz I'm also doing it

  • I wouldn't use Ebay for this service offering. Craigslist is a much better option.

You might want to think of eBay's Classified Ads also.

They run for 30 days (used to be $10/ad) however in the Rules etc. there's a lot more flexibility; you can link directly to your website, put an optin box (some do, some don't, eBay wasn't real clear on that).

From what I understand it depends on 'who's' reviewing your classified ad (if so, at all) as to whether the optin box is okay or not.

With a Class. Ad you're also not subject to Feedback.....

      Well, just a thought!
