The problem I'm having is that when I load a rss.xml file up to a site, it displays properly in a browser. BUT if I have the exact same page in a site folder on my desktop, FF and IE will both display the code version, complete with tags like <title> and </title>

It's just a minor inconvenience but is there a way around this?

just wondering,
dumbie

ps, FF includes this message: "This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below." And then it displays the whole sheet.
#browser #desktop #display #page #rssxml

Have you set up server software on your computer? rss like php code only displays properly when shown/active on a server. Go to www.wampserver.com/en/ and download it and install to set your comp up as a server. hope im not telling you something you already know and hope it helps.

Nope, didn't know that at all. Will download that if I have to but it's a pretty heavy piece of machinery and I'm hoping there is an easier way. Thank you for that piece of information though, and maybe it is what I do need to do.

      best wishes,

rss.xml works fine only online. If you check it offline it doesn't loads properly. It happens in my case too.

Thanks for the second opinion. The first one did sound good and fitted in with my experience but there are so many people running around just tossing off answers, it is always nice to get a little confirmation.
