Templates for .HTML..

WEB DESIGN

Hi Warriors,

I want to create content sites with lots of pages and hate updating each page separately. so far I've been using SSI to call my optin forms/header image and ads etc. Is there an easier way like using a main template that ALL pages use, or will I have to then convert to PHP which my knowledge in is zero?

The pages are .html extensions and I want to keep them that way if possible. I fear the only way around this is SSI.

Any suggestions please?

have you tried any cms like modx? I have a really easy to use cms that can do what you want also, I will locate it and let you check out the site.(its opensource and free)

  Hi Louis,
  
  You can do that easily with include files. You can use include files both for .html pages and .php pages.
  
  If you use Dreamweaver, you can create a .DWT (Dreamweaver Template) file and create the site around it. On updating the DWT file all the pages will get modified.

Stephen I've been using server side includes for a while but now prefer to use a global template. I'll see if Dreamweaver has a trial. do the pages have to be .PHP?
