Joomla Component Question

I know in general warriors aren't big on Joomla, but I'm posting in hopes someone knows what I'm looking for.

A month or so ago, I was looking at different Joomla membership components. I have an idea for a site and what I am looking for is a component or set of components that has:

  1. A subscription membership system with multiple levels
  2. A download directory
  3. Some way to limit the number of downloads per month.
I can't even remember what I was looking for, but I found something that would work perfectly for what I need. The download directory displayed a description of each item, there was a review and rating feature, and the download link only displayed if they were logged in and had an active membership . . . I think it had a credit system too.

At the time, I was looking into components for a client site and wasn't ready to start on the directory site for myself. I had no idea it would be THIS hard to find it again. I'm kicking myself for not bookmarking it.

I've used Docman with AEC before, but the public can't see the file at all without the appropriate membership. I want each download item to be able to be viewed as a regular content item, it just can't be downloaded by the public.

The developer's site had a number of commercial components that could be purchased individually, but they also bundled them for specific applications, and a membership download directory was one of them.

It's not MightyMembership, theFactory, or OSE. The presentation of the site is really nice, although their SEO must be crap because I have spent HOURS trying to find it again.

Does anyone have any idea what the name of the component might be? Does it sound familiar? I posted on the Joomla forum but didn't receive a response

to be honest, I have 2 sites i am setting up (one for my company, and one for a client) that both use AEC and Docman along with the CBC Community components.

these components can be setup in a way that will allow people to see the files but not download them if they do not have the right member level or no membership. It is all in the security settings in docman and AEC. AEC works pretty good hand to hand with Docman.

As to your question, yes what your describing does sound familiar with something i too was looking at, and like you, i forgot to bookmark the site and when i went to find it again, poof gone, like it never existed. it looked really good too. if i find it again i will let you know.

      Thanks Visual,

I was beginning to think I had imagined it.

I know I could probably piece something together, but this component set had EVERYTHING . . . absolutely EVERYTHING I was looking for. It would save me hours of time setting it up.

I'm actually not ready to set this particular site up yet. I'm trying to discipline myself not to set up a new site until I get through the promotion process of the ones I already have, but I like to line out exactly what I need so I can just do it when I'm ready to go.
