I found some website scripts on my hard drive. They are 85 niche sites, but I am not sure of how to create the sites following the instructions.

I want to add them to my main site, but I am unsure of what the instructions are asking. The first one for example, upload to root directory? Is that to mydomain.com/ or mydomain.com/nichekeyword? - do you understand what it is I mean?

Here are the instructions:

1. Upload all files keeping the file structure and file names as they are. Upload these to your root directory.
2. Go to the cgi-bin and CH-MOD the setpermissions.sh file to 755
3. Type in your-domain-name.com domain name registration web placeholder (www.your-domain-name.com).
4. If you don't see any errors and see the page telling you the permissions have been set, it worked.
5. Type your-domain-name.com domain name registration web placeholder (www.your-domain-name.com).
6. The first time you arrive at this page you setup your username and password (this can be changed later in the admin panel)
7. The main page is the setting page. Add in your Adsense Id and Affiliate Id's
And here is a video to show the files I want to work with.

I'm off to create a video of the files quickly as the other one was so bad

But if anyone can help me with the instructions while I sort out another video, it would be much appreciated.

    Brian,

    the root directory is
    mydomain.com/

usually the root directory is called public_html

so you would use an FTP program like FileZilla to upload everything into your root directory and continue with the instructions...

I'll get this right if it isn't when I get home? But I set the cgi-bin to 755 and ran the "setpermission.sh" command, but I'm getting a 404 error page.

From the video I think you can see the websites zipped, as they are in a set of 10, 25 and 50. I basically FTPd all of them all 85 to the root. I'm not sure if I should have uploaded them in their unzippedsets of 10,25 and 50 ?

If you're using Cpanel, then root directory will be found at public_html or www.

Why you're getting 404 error when opening the site? One of the reason I guess is that there is no index file.

I guess this script is not hard to install, you only need to unzip, then upload the all the files to your site root directory.

Thank you for taking the time to post a reply edudol1973, much appreciated.

I was travelling when I made the last post but I had unzipped the files and done everything asked of me, but at stage 3. the instructions fall down. Why do I get a 404 when I use the cgi-bin/setpermissions.sh command?

      3. type your domain.com/cgi-bin/setpermissions.sh <---- I did this and got the error message. Before even looking at the sites.
      4. If you don't see any errors and see the page telling you the permissions have been set, it worked.
      5. Type www.mickmilleronline.info/admin/
      6. The first time you arrive at this page you setup your username and password (this can be changed later in the admin panel)
      7. The main page is the setting page. Add in your Adsense Id and Affiliate Id's
Would just so like to get this working. Thank you to everyone who has posted advice.
