Default Anybody use Photoshop CS4?

I've been using Adobe Photoshop CS3 for some design projects for quite a while now, and have only recently thought of upgrading to Photoshop CS4.
(Maybe I'll treat myself for Christmas!)

What I'd like to know is what version of Photoshop is most popular with the warrior members? Which version is on your computer at this very moment?

Do you use CS4? and would you recommend it?

Thanks! Looking forward to see which version comes out tops!

Hey JackThelad

I use CS4 everyday, all day.... I am in either Dreamweaver, Flash or Photoshop pretty much all the time I am on my computer... and they are all CS4

I like the new tools and the changes to the interface. If you have the loot and are going to use it consistently, the upgrade is worth it. If you are a "dabbler", then stay with CS3 as it is still a very powerful program that you are probably only using maybe 10% of it's feature set.

I know I have been using PS for many years and still don't use more than maybe 40% or it's features.... It just offers you such a large set of tools..

Have a Great Day!

I use Photo Shop CS4 as well. However that is only because I do a lot of instruction for Photo Shop that is aimed towards beginners. Most of these beginners are just starting out and have to buy their first versions of Photo Shop which tend to be the latest and greatest.
I would recommend downloading the trail version and seeing if there are features in CS4 that you really need before you go and spend the money on upgrading. CS3 is more than adequate for most peoples needs.

Yeah, I was wondering about downloading the trial version of CS4, but I've heard horror stories about people doing that and then CS3 getting confused and stop working alltogether.

Don't listen to the horror stories, most are untrue. CS4 to me is a worthwhile upgrade. It just seems to work better and faster. I like the new features such as being able to shrink images but keeping the perspectives in tact. Small upgrades but well worth it.

Since upgrading, I haven't looked back.

Well, new sofwares are always new & improved & better, only to be replaced by the even more "new & improved & better". I'm stuck with CS2 and happy with using it...

Thanks OrlandoWebDesign, might give it a shot then - fingers crossed

@milo_pl - I know exactly what you mean, I might get round to purchasing CS4 and soon after Adobe will release CS5?

i use CS4 Extended. I have the extended version for it's 3d support as i do some 3d manipulation in Photoshop for clients.

I have been using photoshop since version 5, and have upgraded to the newest version as it gets released. CS4 is deff. a worthwhile upgrade.

Does the standard version of photoshop CS4 come with 3D manipulation support?
I probably wouldn't have a need for it right now though, but it could come in handy in the future.

You know I've stopped using Photoshop lately, and started using Inkscape. It's small, free, lightweight, and does what I need it to do, but I'm no graphics designer...

I purchased the Adobe CS3 Masters Suite, thats about 15 top of the line Adobe products.

Adobe Creative Suite CS3 Master Collection includes:
  • InDesign CS3
  • Photoshop CS3 Extended
  • Illustrator CS3
  • Acrobat 8 Professional
  • Flash CS3 Professional
  • Dreamweaver CS3
  • Contribute CS3
  • Fireworks CS3
  • After Effects CS3 Professional
  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS3
  • Sound booth CS3
  • Encore CS3
  • Adobe Bridge CS3
  • Version Cue CS3
  • Adobe Device Central CS3
  • Adobe Stock Photos
  • Acrobat Connect
  • Dynamic Link
  • Adobe On Location CS3
  • Ultra CS3
I use Adobe CS3 at my home, but while in college we use CS4 on a MAC.

In my honest opinion my CS3 is much better for me, why, well, the schools latest MAC is way to slow compared to my Asus Computer which has 9 GB of RAM.

CS4 and CS3 really are not much different, if I were to just start out I would buy CS4 for sure, but only if I could get a deal on it.

I found a awesome deal on the CS3 Master Suite Collection, which normally sells for around 2,000.00 retail.

I go the corporate edition which means you can download and install on upto 5 different computers.

Guess what my deal was? I got it for 125.00! , no lie, its not a bootleg copy, its the original disc with all the downloads and registration code intact. WOW! I was and still am excited. God is great!

Well, there are pros and cons of PhotoShop CS4 and CS3. You should access your purchase based on your current needs and project your future ones. Upgrade as and when it's necessary, or else you'll see yr investment being "tied up" and you may not be maximizing the software investment. Currently, am using CS4 and happy with that.

Hello guys!

Here im putting some use of CS4,
CS4 software provides improved access to its unrivaled power through a more intuitive user experience, greater editing freedom, and significant productivity enhancements.Simplify image adjustment by easily accessing every tool you need to nondestructively adjust and enhance the color and tone of your images; on-image controls and a wide variety of presets are also included in the live and dynamic Adjustments panel.

Quickly create and edit masks from the new Masks panel. This panel offers all the tools you need to create editable pixel- and vector-based masks, adjust mask density and feathering, easily select noncontiguous objects,

Use the revolutionary Content-Aware Scaling feature to automatically recompose an image as you resize it, smartly preserving vital areas as the image adapts to the new dimensions. Get the perfect image in one step without time-intensive cropping and retouching.

I used CS4 for my website photographs and very exterior output I getted for the information visit this link....

CS4 is pretty pricey! Honestly though if you think you'll get the use out of it, why not! Use it wisely, and it'll pay for itself in no time.

Default Anybody use Photoshop CS4?

I used Photoshop 8 for long time, way back, basic features are same compared to new. Now I am using CS4, again faced some problems, so decided to use Illustrator CS4, now I am able to design good vector graphics. Almost all the things can be done by using Illustrator.

cs4 is so much better in so many ways then previous versions. everything is much more compatible which makes it easier to drag and drop between different programs to utilize cs4 for all its worth.
