Anyone Use Thesis Wordpress theme?

I had a few questions regarding the thesis theme for wordpress. I am currently using version 1.6.

I don't know php and coding and stuff and i need some help customizing the thesis theme. I have heard something about "hooks" in thesis and it is said that you can easily customize the theme using those hooks.

Anyone help in this? i want a custom heading (i might add a logo). How can that be done?

Hi, I am using thesis theme 1.5 and 1.6

Here are some resources that u can find with regards to your request on customizing headers using thesis theme:

h t t p://diythemes.com/forums/customization/ (need to create account) <-- type custom header or logo under search. U shall find previous similar search requests and the solution here. If still not clear, just open a new thread to ask for help. There will be people responding to your help. Just be patient.

It helps if u can read up a bit on php and css first, as that will help you speed up understanding some technical jargon on editing the thesis theme.

In version 1.5 you could install a plug in called Open Hooks. I think they may have integrated it into 1.6 but haven't checked yet. You can easily use open hooks to install a header and logo very quickly.

Hooks in Thesis are essentially positions on the page. So, by adding code to the custom.php or custom.css files you can place and style content in those positions. The Open Hook plug-in allows you to access those positions very easily - it has a box for each and clearly labels them. In addition, it has checkboxes for things like turning off the default link in the footer. The OH plug-in is compatible with 1.6 and is still very useful.

Yep I know about hooks but I still find them complicated to use (i do not know much PHP coding).Thanks a lot. I got that plugin and going to experiment with it.
