I started this health and fitness blog called Fitness Contrarian a few months ago. My goal is to get a substantial readership, collect e-mails and then try to monetize it. I have a sliding feature section on the blog with an attached side bar. Other bloggers have told me to remove it because it takes away from the text of the articles and I can’t get my sign-up box high enough on my home page. Should I remove the sliding feature on my blog? Best - Mike Fitness Contrarian |

Hard to say for sure. Probably yes. If there's a way to make it smaller, I'd test it that way. The ultimate answer is always to test it. You just never know for sure otherwise. ps Welcome to the forum. |

there is not real hard in leaving it in place, but would be better if it was a little smaller. Normally this can be achieved within the wordpress admin or by adjusting the plugins css and html template files. but like i said, for what your site is about, it does not harm the way it is IMHO. |

I would like to make the side bar smaller but this theme came with the side bar attached to the sliding feature. It's not a plug in. I guess if I knew html it can be changed. If I turn off the sliding feature I could move up my sign-up form right next to the first post. I will try it both ways over the weekend. Thanks for your help. Best- Mike |
