Default Google Indexing Shenanigans

I have a couple of sites that I released in the past couple weeks that seem to have gone directly into the sandbox and I can't figure out why. I was not using any black hat on either of them and both sites are radically different other than the fact that they are both hosted on the same server (under different domains) and both use Wordpress.

They are both quite well optimized with respect to on-page SEO and are in small niches, yet neither appears in the top 300 of Googles SERP.

I've never had this happen with any site I've done before and I'm worried about whether my webserver's IP address might be flagged or something, since I can't see any other reason this would happen.

Has anybody else noticed this same thing happening. And by same I mean the same, not a case where a site bounced in and out of oblivion with the Google dance, I mean indexed straight into oblivion and after a week never has come out?
