Any phpmydirectory template designers or modifiers here?

I have been researching the pros and cons of setting up a directory site using phpmydirectory. I have selected two or three commercial templates that I like, but have no idea as to how to modify them.

I've checked the Warriors for Hires forum but after about an hour searching I gave up.

Can anyone point me to a Warrior Specialist in this department? I could also use some help with theme installation.

I haven't decided 100% to go with phpmydirectory, as I need to know what it will cost in order to have it customized the way I would like it, so any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
