Alright, I know this is basic stuf, but hey its my first time so I'd appreciate any help! Im making a sales page for a product, I want to use paypal for payment, my question is this....After someone click on the button....and buys the product, how do I redirect them to a thank you/download page so they can download their ebook? :confused:

Now I know its done on PayPals end of it, just dont know how to do it, and get this I just called PayPal and asked for the procedure for making a custumized button that redirects traffic to a site so they can get my product and they told me I should already "know" how to do this. So I said thanks and hung up on them, Im pretty pissed right now. Real good customer service. Anyways, if somebody can just walk me through it step by step, I would greatly appreciate it!

    Hey Trevor, I agree that's a pretty crappy answer from a support rep!

    Login to PayPal and under "Merchant Services" in the list of links under Create Button you'll see a Buy Now button link. That will take you to a form to create your Order button.

    The third section there called "advanced" (click to open it out) will let you set a URL to a thank you page as well as a cancel page.

    In the end, it will give you the complete code to copy and paste into your website.

    Hey RJP..I think thats where Im getting stuck...ok..just so I dont sound like a retard, LoL Merchant services...then create a button , I got that part...I click at the bottom, #3 option...customized advanced features right? Then click on create button....that takes me to a page that shows me the code. Heres where Im lost...Im missing the step where I put in the redirect URL thats where Im lost?? ;-(

    I think I know what the problem is....Im not seeing that drop down menu, because nothing drops down when I click on the third option.....I have to "upgrade" my account dont I ???

    If it doesn't "unroll" then perhaps you're having a javascript problem.

    No I figured it out, LoL My account was a personal account...it wasn't a business account. Thats why it wouldnt roll out with advanced features...thats why I couldn't see the URL box. Jesus, everything in life has to be hard! LoL Hey thanks guys for helping my out, I do appreciate it. You did alot more than their customer service. She just assumed I had a business account...even though they had all my information and could see that I didn't. Real intelligent people working there, all she had to do was say upgrade to business...ok done in 2 seconds, no problem. I think Im going to go have a beer!
