Dreamweaver Re-Install Help

I'm running Dreamweaver CS3, v9.0 on a Mac. About two weeks ago I noticed I was getting a couple error messages when trying to do some formatting functions. It's not a virus and no other aspects of my system are having problems. I did get a message saying a catastrophic failure of the software had occurred--but I had that a couple other times and I just closed it and reopened and it seemed to work fine.

My question is about re-installing the software. I have the original two disks but I'm not sure if I have to un-install it first before I reload it again. Any help is appreciated! --Mike

i think you can just reinstall it from the disks without removing it first, I think it then keeps some of the settings you had with the previous installation. It will probably tell you at some stage when you run the disks if it doesn't like the previous version still being there and to remove it, So there definately seems to be no harm in running an fresh install straight from the disks

If it still crashes then it could be the 'previous settings' it's kept so i'd then probably unistall the lot and put it on a fresh. If it still crashes after that you have big problems!

hope it all sorts itself out for you,

    James

When you insert the installation disk does it prompt you 2 options whether to install a fresh version or repair an existing one? Try to repair it if it does not solve your issue then remove it completely and then install it.

I use photoshop to design the initial design, Have been using it for years now, so I find it rather easy creating pages in that, and its hard to say that which one is the best! it all depends on how one is comfortable in using the software.
