need help transferring current site to wp

Hi,

I am looking to hire someone to help me transfer my current non-wp site to a wp platform also at a different host. Unbelievably my site has a 1st page ranking for a specific niche and I don't want to lose it.

Could someone help me with it?

    Just a few quick thoughts and some questions for you.

    Comments:
    1. Moving to a different host shouldn't be a problem in terms of keeping your ranking as long as you're using the same domain name.
    2. You want to be sure that when you setup Wordpress, the URLs to your pages remain exactly the same as whatever you have working right now. Or you'll need to create 301 redirects from the old URLs to the new URLs to preserve your rankings.

    Questions:
    1. You're asking for help transferring your site to WP. But are you asking for help creating the WP theme for your new site or perhaps creating a theme that matches your current site? Or just moving your existing content to WP, regardless of the theme. I'm trying to figure out what you have in mind when you say "transferring".

    Depending on your knowledge of WP, etc it might be easier to just hire someone to do this for you for a couple hundred bucks vs. messing with it yourself.

      Hi Kenton,

      I think at this point I am looking for someone to hire to do this for me. I have a limited knowledge of WP right now and this task is way beyond me. Once the site is on WP I can manage that myself.

      Can you recommend someone who can do this. I even have a couple of theme ideas that I think might work well.

    if using cpanel, just do full backup, then export the file....

    or u can install wp_db_backup
