Hi,

I have a a main domain (www.host.com) where I want to host a blog for another domain (www.blog.com).

The WP blog is installed under:
www.host.com/blog/wordpress

With URL forwarding, I was able to do this:
www.blog.com --> www.host.com/blog/wordpress

However, whenever I view a post of the blog, the URL becomes something like this:
www.host.com/blog/wordpress/my-post

But I want this:
www.blog.com/my-post

Any warrior here who can help with this?

You could add a CNAME record, so blog.com > host.com

But, whilst that would take you to www.blog.com/my-post, the links on the blog would still take you back to www.host.com/another-post as that's the site URL that's defined in the database, so I'm not sure what you are trying to do is even possible.

If you want to send me the 2 actual domains in question I'll be able to make more sense - I always get muddled when talking in terms of domain1.com, domain2.com, etc. :-)

If your hosting account allows for Add-On domains you can use that feature. Under the host.com account Add-On blog.com and point it to the blog/wordpress folder.

Then within your wordpress admin, change the general settings to the blog.com domain.

        Thanks for your replies!

Ryan, that's the solution. I didn't know I can do this with my godaddy deluxe account. Googling for "add-on domains godaddy" pointed me to the exact steps...

Unluckily, I've been so impatient this morning that I already purchased an additional hosting account for the new project.

Anyway, it's not going to be the last project...

        Thanks again.
