If you want to put up a page or two while you are learning - google Viviti and check out their sites. They make it real easy to put together a site.

I'm a web designer - but the last thing I wanted to do after working on "other people's" sites, was make my own. Viviti made it a simple process and very easy.
I've a main page, blog and there's widgets to drop into my site. I've not been doing as much as I could - been distracted by offline issues.
But you can add pages whenever you're ready to and their templates are very nice too.

While you're learning, it's fun to be able to see what you can do later. Viviti even gives you the option of downloading your site and messing with it in another editor.
For me it lets me see all the stuff in the code - I use Dreamweaver 8 myself.
I like it cause I can design in the design mode and click over to the code mode to see what's going on. I can even do a split to see what happens as I'm adding thing.

Hope this helps some with the journey...
