Will redesign change my website rank?

One of my niches is taking off and I have decided to update the website template. I wanted to use the Flexx Theme. Will this change the ranking of my articles within the site by moving them around or does changing templates have nothing to do with the overall placement of the articles within the site.

    Every case is different but in my personal experience, none of my clients redesigned websites have dropped in ranking because of a redesign. In fact most all have seen improvements.

    Moving pages around will affect the rank if they now get less links. However the only major thing that can affect the results is if the page is renamed or if the meta data is changed.

    In most cases no, especially if using wordpress and a better SEO friendly
    theme, it could even help get better ranking. I suggest you use WP super
    cache and All in one SEO plugins on top of that, it should help very much
    also.

      ultimately you will need inbound links to help your SEO cause. This has nothing to do with on-page factors and your website rising in the ranks

    Thank you to all that answered me. I chose a better Wordpress theme. My theme looked a bit dated and my competition has a pretty good looking theme, so I figured it was time to step up my game.

    It looks pretty good now. Thanks for all the help.

    As far as I know the search engines like active websites, which update
    constantly & therefore would probably improve your search ranking.

    It would make sense me & to who I've spoken to, to keep your content
    fresh & up to date & I would be amazed if that would do you any harm.
