I have just downloaded a page template from the best free templates website and have the following question. When I unzip the template i get the following files html and psd. Within the html file there are further files which are index, index 2, style and another folder named images. How do i upload these files to my wordpress theme so that when I create a new page i get the option to use this template.

Regards

Kim

Ok first of all you shouldn't have unzipped it. But that is ok. Either rezip it or redownload the file. You then go to yoru admin area of WP and click on appearance. Click on themes. clock on upload the browse to the zip file and hit upload. You then just have to activate the theme and there you have it.

Some templates are contained in a container folder which may also be in zip format. And especially in this case, it appears to be so, since there is no reason for PSD files to be in a theme folder that is sent to the WordPress site.

I would suspect that somewhere in that container zip file is the main theme which is probably also zipped.

In my experience with template packages, the psd files are just included to help you customize the graphics, but they (the raw PSD files) are never meant to be part of the uploaded theme package.
