Best web host for Wordpress blogs?

I had posted in The War Room, but the thread never went live... AFAIK, it still isn't live, so if it ever appears there, sorry!

I'm trying to find a good inexpensive host for WordPress blogs. I'd like to host 10-20 per account to start building traffic, using auto-blog apps.

I've tried iPage, but didn't have great luck - their servers had a lot of performance issues - for me anyway...

Here's a list I was able to compile. can anyone let me know if these are good for this purpose - or any others you would recommend?

www.ipage.com
www.justhost.com
www.webhostingpad.com
www.fatcow.com
www.greengeeks.com
www.bluehost.com

Thanks!

If you are prepared to pay $6-$7/month for hosting, then I would suggest going with HostGator..

If not, then simply go to google and type in
    FREE Wordpress hosting

and go with what turns up.

Can I assume that you are gonna be building some AutoBlogs? If so, then the more splaces you spread your hosting over, the better they will do..

Take care and hope this helps

I hear good things about HostGator and BlueHost. I've been using Westhost since 1999 (I'm a website designer). They have fantastic customer service!

I'll put in another vote for HostGator. I've been with them for 2 years and do see myself changing any time soon.

Fantastic. Thanks for the feedback. Looks like HostGator is the next try!

And yes, I do plan on perhaps 10 blogs on an account, and opening multiple accounts with multiple providers. Also, ensuring that if I have 2 host gator accounts that they are on different servers with different IPs.

Maybe that screws with their automated ordering, but I had chatted with one other provider and they said it wasn't a big deal.

Take a Baby Plan on Host gator. It's very cheap, unlimited domains host, very easy to use the cpanel, amazing chat support.
An big amount of marketers use hostgator, it should be a reason why!

Thanks. I already signed up for the Baby plan and am playing with the first test blog on it now.

I did spend the extra $2/month to get a dedicated IP address (woo hoo).

I'm hoping to put 10 different blogs on that IP address, on unrelated topics. When I do two related blogs (ie. two blogs about insurance, purely for example), I will try to put those on different IPs (ie, another baby account or another provider)

      Any feedback on this?

1 - What is the most amount of blogs you would put on a single IP address before it hurts with search?

2 - Assuming that number, how many blogs would you do on that IP address on the same topic (1? more than 1?)

      Thanks

Thanks. HostGator is working well so far, but I'll add JustHost to the list for the next accounts...

Any thoughts on how many blogs per IP address? Whether those blogs on the same IP should be different topics? Can you have more than 1 on the same topic?

Yes and No. A landing page is where you end up on a site when you click on a link. It may or may not be a sales page. Many times landing pages are designed to get a person's email address. The purpose of the sales page is of course to get a sale. It usually highlights the features and benefits of the product or service, contains testimonials and ultimately contains a link to the shopping cart. But wait there's more... sales pages usually contain a bonus if you act now. :-)

You can put as many websites on the same IP without hurting search rankings. A lot of shared hosts put all sites on a server on same IP, so it wouldn't be fair that having dedicated IP or IP with fewer sites on is factor in rankings. I think Matt Cutts said it when answering SEO questions posted on Google moderator several months ago.

I've been using Bluehost since starting IM. I've made some stupid mistakes, and every time they have walked me through the solution. They have to be thinking that I'm stupid with the mistakes I've made, but every time they have been completely friendly and patient with me. I even had to call them once at 2-3 am. I'm completely blown away with their customer service. I haven't used the others, but I haven't had any reason to use anyone else.

Hostgator's server and support is 'the best'. I have measured my site's performance over hostgator and hostmonster(which is another hosting company owned by bluehost). And I found my website giving better performance on hostgator.

If your website needs serious grid computing support then go for MediaTemple. I have seen many large websites hosting on that; CSS-Tricks is one of them

I'll give another vote for Bluehost, they have been great and never had any problems but you might want to check out WordPress Hosting by Page.ly | Create your own website, they are expensive but they strictly host WP sites, just a suggestions
