WordPress Blogs - which plugins do you use?

I know this is an open ended question, but I'm looking for suggestions on plugins to use for new blogs I'm putting up.

Batch 1: Micro Sites to promote real sites

- On these blogs I will be putting up a blog around one keyword, try to rank on SERP and point traffic to the main site. These are for real brick-and-mortar businesses (SEO type work) and not affiliate stuff.

Batch 2: Auto Blogs

- Hey, 4 hours of sleep is too much I need another hobby.
I'm starting to experiment with this area.

I bought Caffeinated Content a few months back, looking at other autoblog plugins as well.

So my questions:

1 - For all blogs, which plugins would you use to help improve usability, SERP listings, making the site SEO friendly, Adwords plugins, etc. What is the laundry list you put on each new blog?

2 - For auto blogs, I know there are a lot of them out there now, but any suggestions, recommendations of one over the other?

I have the latest CC and it really isn't pulling in much. I also had WPRobot on another site, it seemed to work great and pull lots of content but broke a few months back (on a test site). My guess is I need a version upgrade.

Let the plugin wars begin!

I'd go for ALL-In-ONE SEO plugin ( http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/...-one-seo-pack/ ), making sure that the keyword you want to target in in the title of the posts, and preferably in the domain name or sub-directory path as well.

Make sure you have a decent robots.txt plugin installed. I don't know of any public available ones (I have my own custom plugins)

Make sure the site you generate is XHTML compliant (run it thru validator.w3.org ) and fix all errors that it finds. NOTE: Not all WP themes and plugins are created equal

Next make sure you install a google sitemap plugin. I recommend ( http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/...map-generator/ ) very easy to use and works well.

I would suggest you setup the blog so that it posts automatically to Twitter, it amazing how much traffic you will get this way

    AutoBlogs:
WP-ROBOT ( http://wprobot.net/ )is very hard to beat. It leaves everything else in its dust. It did have some problems a few months ago, but they quickly released and update and everything was working again..

    I hope this helps

Bruce - Thanks. While I'm just testing, I had better experience with WP-Robot than CC.

On my test blog, I think I must have had 25 plugins... I went just "a little" overboard.

When you load a page or post an entry, does Wordpress cycle through all plugins to see if they are needed?

Do you think extra plugins slow the site down?

    Thanks

Hello - I am the developer of BlogSense Autoblogging Utility and not many people know that this product even exists, but still I develop it for a living and it is extremely powerful, even compared to the top recognized names such as WP Robot and Autoblogged, and in many ways it surpasses them.

I make it priority to try and implement all of my customer's feature requests, as well as set my imagination on innovative ideas to keep BlogSense pumping out unique relevant features.

I keep a private community attached to the BlogSense administration for resource sharing, and fill it with resource guides I find all over the various internet communities, as well as review new automation softwares for my userbase.

Check out the WSO is in my signature, there is tons of information to get you briefed.
I also have a blog/log where I record all my updates and post videos and commentaries on features : BlogSense - News. Maybe add the rss to your reader and keep tabs on all the updates and feature additions to at least be in the know. Or subscribe to the WSO thread , because I post all updates there too, and posts dont come that ofter (or havent yet), so its not likely that you'll be bombarded with emails from WF.

    Hope this information helps!
