I hope this is a simple CSS question

I found a Wordpress theme I really like, Bistro from New WordPress Themes - New and Fresh Free WordPress Themes, and activated it on an existing site.

The problem is that after I activated the theme, "Bistro" still shows up as the blog title in the header, with "Wordpress Themes by New WP Themes" as the tagline.

In setting, my title and tagline are entered correctly. I tried resaving the settings, but that didn't work.

I checked all the css files and can't find anything that's causing this, but I'm far from an expert. I can usually just figure stuff out by trial and error, but not this time.

As an added data point, I tried a few other themes from new wp themes first, and they worked fine.

Not sure if I should post the url, or the css file, or.... Just let me know what you need. I appreciate any help on this. TIA!!

For some very strange reason, the blog title and tagline might be hard coded in.

don't worry, this should be an easy fix..

In the theme directory, you will find a file called header.php

Open it and look for an html tag called '<title>'

If it says Bisto, then the title is hard coded in, otherwise, there is something else setting the tilte.

If it is set, then the following code snippet , will fix the problem.

Simple replace everything from the start of the

<title> tag to the end of the </title> tag with the following code:

<title><?php if (is_home () ) { bloginfo('name'); } elseif ( is_category() ) { single_cat_title(); echo ' - ' ; bloginfo('name'); }
elseif (is_single() ) { single_post_title(); }
elseif (is_page() ) { bloginfo('name'); echo ': '; single_post_title(); }
else { wp_title('',true); } ?></title>

That should do it..

Well, I went ahead and replaced the title code with yours even though it doesn't seem to be hard-coded. I had previously searched header.php for Bistro, and it's not there.

Anyway, this didn't work. Not sure what's going on. I could use another theme, but I like this one. Plus, it's bugging me.
