I would like to delete an old URL that we used to own (haven't for 3-4 yrs) and replace with our new one. This old URL comes up when someone does a search, and, since there is no website for it, it misdirects new business. HELP.

was wondering if it would be possible for you guys to add some sort of redirect functionality to shopify? We have decided to add another manufacturer to our site and would like to move around/replace some collections, products and pages but don't want our customers to get an error page after doing so. Also all of the search engines have indexed these pages, products and collections and we do get quite a bit of traffic coming into our site from them. I was thinking something along the lines of this as an example. In theme.liquid

Samantha, If I understand your question correctly you want to redirect a domain name you don't own to one that you do own. If that is the case then you can't. You no longer own the old domain name. You do not have any control over that domain at all. However, if you do own the old domain name and just don't use it you have a couple of options.
Good Luck, Gene |
