Help! Wordpress won't talk to XAMPP localhost

I'm familiar with using Wordpress on servers, but
I've only used XAMPP for Drupal develoment up to
now.

The problem I'm having is that Wordpress is not
friendly to XAMPP the way Drupal is.

When I try to change themes, Wordpress cannot
locate the new theme files because it's making
the hash marks the wrong way:

Code:
Failed opening 'C:\xampp\htdocs\wordpress/wp-content/themes/atahualpa/functions/bfa_theme_options.php'
See how that's a problem?

Is there a fix for this ridiculous issue?

Just solved this - when using Wordpress with
XAMPP you must upload new themes in .ZIP
format and allow Wordpress to handle the
    installation within it's own dashboard.

Hmmm, I always run my project-sites with XAMPP before launching them. And has always worked fine. Even the Wordpress-sites that I have used, and have never ran into this kind of problem.

Anyway, good that you solved it and shared the solution :-)

Yeah...I'm glad you solved your problem, and that you shared the solution in case other people have this problem...but I too, have never had a problem installing wordpress on xampp just by editing the config file.
