Hey Warriors, I've been designing my new blog for about a month and to be honest I've lost all sense of what looks good for this website due to me staring at it for so long lol. I've changed fonts, colours, size, and borders etc at least 1000 times. Please take a look and give me your opinion. SOCFX | Web Design Blog Louis |

I like it, but I think the top header is too dark. Also are you going for a simplistic layout? If so, then it looks good. |

Blog looks fine but I don't like the black background. Try a light grey or blue. Much easier on the eyes.

I agree with the above and I also don't like the Web Design Client Tips image. Also not a fan of the hover effect you have used on the nav buttons . Otherwise looks simple and good. |

I think it looks good, but doesn't have that 'bang' that you would expect from a graphics or webdesign related site. Professional and clean but doesn't suit the niche IMO.

Good looking website except for the header. Maybe a larger font or bold on the text "Web Design and Graphics Blog". Seems a little hard to read, or maybe its my older eyes!

The top header is too dark. I'd place the "social stuff" on the right side of the logo. There is too much dead space above the fold.

Well guys.. you are brilliant. Thank you. I agree the header is just too in your face black. The thing is.. I really want a dark theme BUT white content area. As with most dark themes the content is usually dark with a light colour font. hmmm. Nicky, great suggestion. I'll fill the right header with my social links. I'm gonna keep tweeking liitle bits till I get it right. I may even go "all out" helvetica 32px font-size to give it the edge ![]() Thanks again, Louis |

I think i actually prefer the right hand box headers from the template you've tweaked if im honest. yours are perhaps a little more heavy handed and flat looking than the originals. I'd say it's fine if you want to ditch the rounded corners but you need a little more production value in the box tops to make them sit a little better with the subtle shading the lower part of the boxes have. With the logo i'd also maybe right align 'web design & graphics blog' to reduce the headers height slightly and give both elements a bit more breathing space. Currently that whole top left area (from the logo down to the votes section) has a lot of different font sizes and styles going on. |

I wanted to tear it to shreds, really I did. But I can't. You have a decent online narrative voice. Although your narrative sort of teeters on rambling and being hard to read, the content is interesting and keeps the user involved. My writing style sometimes is a bit more punchy. |

Thanks guys. I love how you say what I was thinking. JJReview- You're right! In my head it flows perfectly but on paper it just doesn't read as good ![]() Branding_bible- as for the sidebar box headers, I didn't want a bubbly (rounded corners) header like the other blogs around but I also think they are too flat.. hmm.
