Has anyone developed a way when you purchase a wordpress theme or template it will look exactly like the demo when uploaded to your server?

I know that on Joomla templates when you purchase them and upload them to your server it looks just like the demo because you use what is called "Demo Installer"

It is just such a pain for newbies like me to purchase a wordpress template and upload it and it takes hours just trying to make it look anything like the demo.

Well that is the reason why sometimes spending a bit of money to have a professional wordpress developper build the site of your dreams, even on theme you like, is in fact a real saving.

Indeed, most of the time the demo theme shows a final result, which normal as it show some of the possibilites of a theme. However, much require, setup, configuarion and integration of elements and plugins to achieve the final goal, and this is a strenght because at the same time, most prefer to look unique than to look like everybody else.

    Best regards,

I can't relate to the Joomla part but as for wordpress themes there are some really good reasons.
    • wp themes use widgets that you have to place and sometimes configure.
    • many wp themes have numerous options built-in for you to choose from
    • wp themes don't come pre-loaded with content unless you buy a ready made blog
No they will not look as a mirror image to the demo.
    -BUT-
Yes you can get a mirror image by buying a "built" blog

Hope this makes sense to you

Its largely determined by the template itself and how flexible it seeks to be. The more flexible the design, the more difficult it will be to get it to look like the demo in most cases. Woo Themes is one exception, however, I'm not a fan of the bloated css that most "designer" templates seem to be burdened with.

I'm a huge fan of well designed templates and themes and have created more than a few myself, but I can tell you that you that most of what you will find will suffer from css code bloat.

Make sure that the theme you choose loads fast on the demo or your users will suffer and likely click away before you have time to introduce yourself or your promotion.

In general, the simpler the design, the more readily you will be able to effect the look of the demo and the quicker the theme should load (in most cases, but simple designs can also suffer from css code bloat, ymmv)
