Video Content...What File Type? What Media Player?

I am (literally) pulling out my hair, so overwhelmed & don't know where to start. *deep breath* Okay, so I filmed and edited a video series as a lead generation magnet/opt-in thing & now I need to figure out how to deliver them. I have an amazon s3 account and right now I have them uploaded as wmv's. What should I convert them into before I put 'em on s3? Any converter recommendations? (I would prefer free, obviously.) Should I just post each video as a wordpress page, or will people be able to randomly find them without opting in? Please help! Thanks in advance.

Flash (FLV) is by far the most popular video format online. It can be compressed to a very small file size and still look great, and most web surfers already have it installed in their browser.

As far as free video converters are concerned, Super is hard to beat...

    SUPER &copy

And once your video is converted, you will need a Flash video player embedded on your website to put the video in. Both JW Player and Flowplayer are very good. Both can be easily integrated with Amazon S3.

Neither JW nor FlowPlayer are without license restrictions for
commercial use. They are free to use only if you aren't trying
to use them to get money for yourself.

Super is as good as you can get for free. I uses an outdated codec
called .h263, developed in 1996. All free FLV converters use this
codec because... well, it's opensource and free.

The superior modern codecs are proprietary and yield higher-quality
video at lower streaming bit rates and smaller file sizes.

S3 is a very costly way to host video, but so many people are
convinced it's not there's not much point in arguing with them.
