Help with Hosting Question

I use hostgator business plan hosting.
I want to host simple local business webpages with a subdomain. 10 page max per subdomain.

I also want to host link cloaking/redirect/tracking software with my customers domains that they point at my server. I would then add their domain into my hosting account and install link cloaking/tracking software for them to use for tracking their own ads. All of this for a monthly fee.

It is a php based link tracking/cloaking script. The script is very simple.

I don't know how this works but my concern is... What if I have too many people on my hosting account that I sign up for link tracking, does that affect how my sites on the same hosting account will function as to speed or otherwise?

Will it slow things down?
Hostgator says I get Unlimited bandwith, domains and diskspace.

I just want to provide a service if it wont adversely affect my other sites in some way.

    this will depend on the type of graphic or images you put in the index pages

    usually it is recommended to use small images instead of large images

    even if you have unlimited bandwidth if your images is half A4 page it will

    definitely take a very long time to load

      You should be OK. Hostgator is able to handle about
      anything that you can throw at them.

      Your other sites should run just like they are
      now.

    HostGator's servers are usually run pretty well, and I'm sure they'd let you know (without suspension) if your sites become too resource heavy However in truth, it'd probably be only when you have 100+ people on your site in a site interval (15 minutes?) that your site might start to outgrow shared hosting.

    And as an FYI - remember that "unlimited" disk-space and bandwidth does not exist. There's no such thing as an "unlimited" hard-drive or "unlimited" bandwidth internet connection. When hosts use this term, they just use it as part of a marketing 'technique'.

    What you are talking about is whether your site would be too CPU and memory intensive.

    Keep an eye on these stats via your cPanel (IIRC HostGator track these for you via your cPanel?), and remember HostGator's TOS - more specifically clause 7)a) - and you should be fine

    Yeah, completely depends on the graphics, and yeah you need to see that the domains your are using provides the desired number of subdomians..
