Hello every one.how to upload a premade website to my hosting account

Hi Warriors,
First ..I feel priviliged to be in the company of such great people around here!!Thank you all!!!

Now ....I have some premade websites like thos website packages .. with me and I would like to upload them to my hosting account..to create my website.I have those websie zip filess with each of the file having things like a few htmls,jpgs, some phps ,salesletters html,thankyou html and one style.css
Can someone please please help me get a hang of this stuff ,I think i am missing something here.Basically what I am trying is to try to get a readymade website zip file upload in my hosting account and then customize the things a little to have a website of my own.But somehow I am just not able to do everything step by step and correctly .I know the basic instructions on all packages like upload the to the directory through FTP,then go in the browser type the path of the install file etc .I did these but when I types the path for the install directory nothing happens ...seems I am missing some steps and maybe need some tips on a website directory structure on a host ...
Can some one atleast show me the plaqce where I can get some solutions .Ill be very thankful.
Also can people help me understand the difference between a already-created-websitte adsense-website-template and such packages and how to use them .
