For any Wordpress blog users I have a question:
When uploading an original photo image to a blog post, I found that any reader can click on the image to view the original-sized file, then if they want they can right click and save the image.
This is bad if I want to protect my photos.
So...does anyone know how to turn off the feature on Wordpress that allows readers to access the oroginal photo file?
Thanks!!!

When you select the pic in WP-admin, you get the option to edit it. Delete the URL to the pic in the "link URL" field.

I wouldn't bother too much about it if I were you though. If people really want your pics they'll get them anyway, there's no stopping them from taking a screenshot.

Overlay the name of your website at the bottom of the image.
Free publicity for your site if people copy your image

If you use PHOTOSHOP, you can add a watermark to the image as well. Most big companies that sell images off a watermarked comp for free. This will keep folks from stealing the image and using it elsewhere.

I like the idea of putting your domain at the bottom. This is pretty popular, too.

there is smaller / cheaper software than photoshop, and anyway, if it's on the internet it HAS BEEN downloaded already. So don't bother with hiding links to the pictures, as long as the browser downloads it ... well it's already on the computer

To remove the direct link, when adding any image via the Wordpress uploader, just select "none" for the link.

Before this recent Wordpress 2.92 upgrade, this wasn't even an issue, but now it is becoming increasingly annoying.
