From One Wordpress Theme To Another

Hello forum,

I've been trawling the forum for a while looking for my answer but can't find the advice I need.

I have a well established self-hosted wordpress blog getting 1,000+ visits a day with the Thesis theme which is great. However, for this one blog I'm thinking of changing the format to the Revolution Magazine theme which I also have tucked away.

What I basically want to know is how the swap from Thesis to Revolution will affect SEO? (search engines being where I get 90% of my traffic). I'm not planning on changing any link structures or anything like that, just a basic swap.

Any advice would be tremendous.

    This is by no means to be considered a conclusive answer, but I wouldn't think it would hurt your SEO. On the other hand, if you're getting 1,000+ organic hits/day, it might be wise to simply not mess with success.

    Google ranks pages mainly based on the title, content of the page and the backlinks so you should not have any change based on switching out a theme. The only thing that could affect you is the page load speed. Google have started saying this is something webmasters should be looking to improve so just make sure the page does not take minutes to load. You can monitor the page load speed on google's webmaster tools if you have it already set up.

    Themes should not have a large impact on SEO / SERP. Especially if you are using one of the SEO plugins that gives you reign over the link and the title.
