How I Added CAPTCHA to My Blog

Last week I was at my wit's end with CAPTCHA plugins - I knew well enough to use Contact Form 7, but I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to enable the Really Simple CAPTCHA plugin. Support for the plugin seemed pretty nil, too.

I finally found a thread where other bloggers were having the same trouble. They reached a conclusion and I had a five-minute *facepalm* moment for not thinking of it sooner.

You simply enable the tag.

So for those of you who have installed Contact Form 7 and Really Simple CAPTCHA, here's the steps I used to enable it:

1. Navigate to the "Contact-Edit" section on the Admin dashboard.
2. Select the form you want to edit and click the drop-down "Generate Tag" menu
3. Select "CAPTCHA"
4. Make any desired aesthetic edits in the tag menu
5. Copy and paste both the "Image" and "Input Field" codes underneath the "<p>Your Message<br />[textarea your-message] </p>" code on the left side of the window where the form code appears
6. Click the "Save" button at the top right of the dashboard.

Check your contact page now - it should contain the CAPTCHA field.

I don't know if anyone else here has had this trouble, but if you have, I really hope this helps you out.
