Right now i began making a website with coffeecup. I am using it right now for some simple websites until i get adobe and learn php real well. It's the easiest to use wysiwyg that i have found and has worked great. Until recently.

Whenever i use a picture on a website, it copies it to the website folder. Recently, it uses the wrong pictures in the wrong places and all sorts of crazy things with the pictures. Anyone else know cofee cup and familiar with the problem?

ps. it does not let you edit the code or anything... it is strictly wysiwyg.

Coffee Cup have 2 products; their Visual editor (wyswyg), and the Coffee Cup HTML Editor.

I prefer the HTML editor because it offers a way to do many tasks in a WYSWYG environment, but also lets you get back into the code so you can edit it manually when needed.

If you have purchased the Visual product, you can download their free version of the HTML editor and try it our first.

They have some very useful products to offer web designers.

    Hi,

If you plan on learning PHP then you will need to learn HTML and CSS in order to format your PHP pages. With that in mind you should stay away from WYSIWYG software. This type of software is for people who want to create websites but who dont want to learn code.

Alternatively you can learn to use Adobe Dreamweaver from the start and then use that to create your PHP pages. That may be what you are already planning to do. Even if that is the case I would recommend learning HTML and CSS to a basic level anyway.

And the Coffee Cup HTML editor is good for that. Although a good HTML/CSS book and free editor such as HTML Kit would be good too.

Avoid WYSIWYG if you're for learning PHP in the near future.I don't advice Dreamweaver either.Being a developer I prefer Netbeans IDE for html, css, php, java and even jQuery. It makes life really easy. The only drawback of Netbeans is it seems to muddle up the encoding scheme for HTML pages. Not a big deal as the fix is quite straight forward.Open and save the HTML file again with some text editor.

Apart from that it works great.Even if you don't want to get into raw coding,I'd suggest doing this for atleast couple of your websites before switching to WYSIWYGs.It always helps to have the knowledge of what's actually going on behind the scene.

Coming back to your query, send me the files and I'll teach you how to fix it.

      Good luck
