Does anybody know of a good site to get free or low cost photos for a website. Normally wouldn't mind paying but am just starting and am low on funds at this time.
Thanks for any response in advance

I would say this is the best photo site on the web

Stock Photography: Search Royalty Free Images & Photos

If you are looking for free then google

    royalty free images
    royalty free photos

there are loads of sites but normally the best images will cost you money
    Thats why I recommend istockphotos

I also use sxc.hu although their selection is a bit limited.

If I can't find photos there I just resort to istockphotos. Last time I checked, images are at $1 a piece except for illustrations which could go up to $15.

There are many sites which have photo libraries and you can purchase photos from it. Few of the sites are: Stockvault, photobucket, depositphotos, photodeposit are few of them.

You can get better results by query to Google "Top pictures for website" or you can change your query accordingly to get the desired results. And now days you can easily Get photographs to any topic or niche free of cost.

Another vote for istockphoto.com, they're pretty decently priced and have a great range

You can Google "Top pictures for website", but I would still try and determine if they are royalty free pics.

That's an idiot advice. Are advising to steal other people's images?

You are definitely smart for asking advice on where to get pictures for websites. Just recently I read a thread on a different forum explaining how someone ended up in a lawsuit due to taking pictures off of Google and using them on their personal site. They ended up losing $4,500 over a picture they could have purchased for $10.

As for places in which you can find free / low cost pictures for your websites you may want to check out Deviant Art for pictures. The photographs users take that are on display for no cost take a minute and contact the photographer and ask them if you could use the picture on your website. A lot of photographers will allow you the use so that their picture is on display.
