I'd recommend to master your HTML and CSS skills. Maybe get some training in:

DreamWeaver CS4 Essentials
Web Accessibility Principles
Web Site Planning and Wireframing

Set good foundations on for your craft. SEO would also be funky as an add on to your skills. then do some keyword research on high traffic phrases and build your blog around such keywords.

Include a section on on "How to create" - websites from scratch, squeeze pages, create wordpress templates, etc... Anything that you are passionate about that relates to your craft.

Your blog would feature How-Tos and your personal nuggets of wisdom. I'd also put a squeeze page to capture leads and offer real advice for seeking individuals.

Use a 4:1 or 3:1 ratio in your email sequence which means 4 good no pitch advise/email and then a letter for an affiliate product or your own. 3:1 ratio is from the same principle.


If you want a quick buck within the next 60 days (realistically) while getting paid to practice your web development craft - approach any warrior in the forum that you discern to be needing a website and offer your service for free in exchange for a future testimonial. Build up a folio of 5 to 10 happy warrior and then go for a Warrior Special Offer and start charging for your services.
