Hello Warriors.....

I hope to get some opinion/advice on the problem that I'm facing now. I start selling my product through 1 month ago.... and this is my 1st online product. Delivery method - instant download after purchase - zip file (27.9 Mb).

the problem start when my 1st customer complained that she can't download the zip file - too slow 1~4 Kb/s. I start checking - try to download the file, and confirm that download speed is too slow (.... I can see the msg " Estimate time left: 2 hr 37 min, Transfer rate: 3.63KB/s...).

So I check my connection download speed: 206 KB/sec <== good enough for me

Further test: I upload the same zip file to my other hosting, and do the download test.
Result: Transfer rate-110KB/s, Estimate time 4min 4sec

My assessment - problem with the server.

I contacted my hosting company and explained to them the problem and show then my my test result and..... surely my opinion base from that result.

Their reply - no problem at their site and the download speed is OK. With all the information that I gave them, they said the problem is at my end..... which I don't agree.

Current Status: Not Solve (...main cause?) - ticket still open.

Would appreciate an opinion/advise from Warriors on this matter. Is it possible that my account setup contribute to this problem?..... or maybe like they said, the problen is at my end.

Thanks in advance...

There are so many things it could be, but if the download works better from the other host why can't you just leave it there?

Hi - I too have faced such issues but here the file size is near 22 MB !! Guess you really need a good bandwidth in your server ( caz if 50 people simultanously start a download - guess it will go for a toss ) .

What I would suggest is use the same technique people use for uploading and downloading movies . They break up the file into small small bits ( lot of softwares are available for this online ) and upload it to servers like rapid share etc. and give the link to those files . When your users download it , they can again join the files and un-zip it ( you can also provide them with a manual to do it ) . Its easy and solves the issue . Hope this was helpfull

Hi Kaviraj..... thanks for your advice. Already test smaller zip file size (<10 MB), same problem. Transfer rate <10KB/s.
